Terms of Use
Clear terms, in plain language.
Welcome to Lagundo ASL Services. These Terms explain the general rules for using our website, submitting requests, and working with LAS. Our goal is simple: clear communication, a transparent process, and respectful professional relationships. If anything here raises a question, please reach out. We are glad to help.
Accessibility is art.
These Terms apply generally to use of our website, request forms, and services. A specific engagement may also be governed by a written proposal, service agreement, statement of work, or other agreement accepted by you and LAS.
If a signed or accepted engagement agreement conflicts with these Terms, the engagement agreement controls for that engagement.
1. Services we provide
LAS provides professional communication-access and accessibility services, including American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting on-site and virtually through video remote interpreting (VRI), CART captioning, live entertainment interpreting, Deaf interpreter coordination, and accessibility consulting. LAS requires interpreters working through the agency to follow applicable professional and ethical standards, including the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct where applicable, as well as the laws and credentialing requirements relevant to the assignment.
2. Requesting services
Services may be requested through our website, by email at info@lagundoaslservices.com, or by phone at (702) 469-4204. Early requests are encouraged, particularly for large events, specialized assignments, holidays, travel, and programs requiring multiple interpreters. Availability is confirmed only when LAS accepts the engagement in writing. A request is not a booking.
3. Proposals, pricing, and confirmation
Each engagement is priced individually and confirmed through a written proposal or service agreement before work begins. The proposal identifies the services, scope, staffing, fees, and any approved travel or other engagement-specific costs. New engagements or assignments involving travel may require a deposit, and any required deposit will be stated before the engagement is confirmed. An engagement is not confirmed until the required agreement has been accepted and any required deposit has been received.
4. Staffing
LAS staffs each assignment based on its duration, schedule, content, complexity, communication needs, and setting. LAS determines the appropriate interpreter or team, including whether team interpreting or a Deaf interpreter is appropriate. Staffing decisions are made to support effective communication, interpreter performance, continuity, and the needs of the assignment. You do not need to determine how many interpreters to request. LAS handles the staffing plan. Where an engagement may be delivered on-site or through VRI, LAS recommends the access approach based on what will provide effective communication.
5. Travel
Assignments outside our home service area may require travel, including transportation, lodging, mileage, parking, per diem, or other reasonable travel expenses. Any anticipated travel costs are discussed and included or identified in writing before confirmation. A deposit may be required before LAS books travel. Once third-party travel costs have been incurred, any non-refundable amounts remain due even if the engagement is later changed or canceled, subject to the applicable service agreement.
6. Payment terms
Unless otherwise stated in the applicable proposal or service agreement, payment is due Net 15. Different terms may apply based on the engagement or an established relationship. Deposits may be required for new engagements, travel, or other assignments identified in the proposal. Past-due balances may be subject to late fees or interest when stated in the applicable agreement and permitted by law. Payment methods and any applicable processing terms appear on the proposal or invoice.
7. Cancellations and no-shows
Confirmed interpreter time is reserved specifically for your engagement. Cancellations received with less than 48 hours of notice, or within the cancellation period stated in your proposal or service agreement, may be billed up to the full confirmed engagement amount. If the requesting party, organization, or partner does not appear, or the reserved interpreting time cannot be used because the engagement does not proceed as scheduled, the contracting party may remain responsible for the confirmed fees as provided in the applicable agreement. Travel or other non-refundable costs already incurred may also remain due.
8. Recording, media, and public use
Interpreting services are not automatically licensed for recording, rebroadcast, livestreaming, commercial distribution, promotional use, or other public reuse. If an assignment will be recorded, streamed, broadcast, photographed for commercial use, or redistributed, tell LAS before the engagement is confirmed. Additional permissions, licensing terms, preparation, staffing, or written agreements may be required depending on the use. No recording or distribution rights should be assumed unless they are confirmed in writing.
9. Confidentiality
LAS treats information received through assignments with care and discretion. Interpreters working through LAS are expected to follow applicable professional confidentiality standards, including the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct where applicable. Information shared in healthcare, legal, workplace, educational, and other sensitive settings is handled according to the professional, contractual, and legal requirements applicable to the assignment. If your organization requires a business associate agreement, confidentiality agreement, security requirement, or other specific safeguard involving protected or sensitive information, let LAS know before the engagement is confirmed so the requirement can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
10. Website use and content
The LAS website and its text, branding, design, original media, and other materials are provided for informational and business purposes. Content owned by LAS may not be copied, republished, sold, or used commercially without permission, except as allowed by law. Some images, marks, embedded content, or other materials may belong to third parties and remain subject to their respective rights. You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, impersonate another person or organization, or knowingly submit unlawful or malicious material through LAS forms.
11. Privacy and submitted information
Information submitted through the LAS website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please do not submit passwords, financial account credentials, or other information that is not necessary for your request.
12. Changes to these Terms
LAS may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version, and updated Terms apply from their stated effective date. Changes to this page do not replace or retroactively modify the terms of an engagement already governed by an accepted proposal or service agreement unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
